CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: TEACH A 1000 LEARNERS FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAM.

The Management of the Lusaka Securities Exchange Plc on the 7th of March 2025 launched a social initiative campaign called ‘Teach a 1000 learners’ aimed at reaching 1000 learners with financial literacy, as part of its social policy to help narrow the gap of financial exclusion and bring many more within the financial inclusion bracket. The Exchange realises that financial literacy remains a critical challenge globally, and Zambia is no exception as many young people lack basic understanding of financial concepts, including the stock market.

The primary objectives of this program are to increase understanding by providing students with a foundational understanding of the stock market, including its functions, key players, and basic terminology, to develop investment skills by equipping students with the knowledge to analyse companies, assess risk, and make informed investment decisions, and to foster a broader understanding of financial concepts. This initiative will be delivered using virtual and physical classes and will take place every second and last week of the month.

We invite schools from across the country to participate on a first-come, first-served basis and select their preferred dates and opt for either a visit to the Exchange (for groups of less than 50 learners) or a visit from the Exchange to their school (for groups of more than 50 learners).

We encourage all interested schools to submit their requests and take advantage of this educational opportunity!
