BIDDING FAREWELL TO THE FIRST FEMALE CHAIRPERSON OF THE LUSE BOARD DR KAYULA SIAME On the 30th October, we hosted a farewell breakfast for our outgoing Board Chairperson Dr Kayula Siame. She was the first female Board Chairperson to have led the Board of the LuSE. The business certainly appreciates the invaluable contribution to have led the Exchange through tough economic times. In her remarks the Chairperson of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Zambia (SEC) Board, Mrs. Ruth Mugala, recognized that under Dr Siame’s leadership at the Exchange, there was notably strong push to increase products available for trading on the market. “Dr Siame, your visionary guidance has helped shape the landscape of our industry, fostering innovation and promoting fair practices. Your tireless efforts have resulted in significant advancements and positive outcomes for all stakeholders.” She said. And the acting Chairperson of the LuSE Board, Mr Raphael Kasonde also expressed a lot of gratitude for the way the outgoing Chair had led the Board. Among some of the key achievements recognized under her lead as the Board Chairperson include the listing of the first Green Bond, the first Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and an approved Medium-Term Plan that the LuSE will use over the next five years.
